CARBOPOST®
composite posts are unidirectional, longitudinal fiber reinforced
composite posts, made of T700 carbon fibers embedded in an epoxy resin
matrix.
CARBOPOST® composite posts are radiopaque, thanks to a baryum filler in the resin matrix.
CARBOPOST®
composite posts are factory silanated, allowing the use of resin
bonding cements and core composite, and giving a homogeneous
all-composite corono-radicular restoration.
CARBOPOST® composite posts avoid bi-metallism and corrosion, are bio-compatible, and are easy to remove if necessary.
CARBOPOST®
composite posts can be cleaned with all the soaking products in use for
dental decontamination and are is autoclavable up to 135° C.
CARBOPOST®
composite posts have a high E-modulus and have the same mechanical
behaviour as metal posts. But they are composite posts and the epoxy
resin matrix has a real shock absorbing effect.
UD Composite Post Reduces Shear Stress by 50% !
|
In the case of metal posts the stress is fully and immediately transmitted to the root.
With composite posts, thanks to both the shock absorbing effect of the
resin matrix and the thickness of the adhesive cement used for sealing
the post, the stress is transmitted progressively and regularly to all
the coated surface:
the use of composite posts even with as high a rigidity as the CARBOPOST® composite post reduces shear stress by 50%.
The bonding cement and core composite of the tooth restoration are
respected thanks to the shear stiffness and the low transversal
modulus. |
|
Carbon posts had two handicaps, their black color and their non radiopacity:
Carbopost® composite posts are radiopaque and grey colored like titanium.
A carbon post that is radiopaque, medium grey, corrosion free, shock
absorbing, silanated and that shows a real chemical adhesion with the
core composite and bonding cement, is a real good post.
Some practitioners feel secure when using a rigid post: with
CARBOPOST®
composite posts, they can keep their convictions on rigid posts and be
glad to move to today's adhesive and non-invasive dentistry by using a
composite post "as strong as metal."
